70 years of history

We continually and systematically seek to promote health and human development, in order to build a healthier and more sustainable society.

The Fundação Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso was founded in 1951 by Mrs. Maude Queiroz Pereira with an initial equity of 100.000$00 donated by herself.

On March 7, 1951, deemed public deed by Government Order, the Foundation was then named the "Fundação de Assistência Materno Infantil de Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso"

The founders believed that an approach encompassing both health and social support could promote conditions of growth and harmonious development for all children, regardless of their socio-economic conditions. At the time, there wasn't a National Health Service in Portugal.

With this in mind, the Foundation started its activity in the parish of Santa Maria de Belém, dedicating itself to provide health care to women and children. The last 7 decades the foundation has been studying and improving health practices resulting in a clear positive impact in health gains in children´s development and wellbeing.

Since 2013, the Foundation has broadened its approach with new health services in the area of Sexual and Reproductive Health and in Chronic Disease Prevention. This approach allows following-up with the life cycle of each family's members.

Social Solidarity Institution

The Fundação Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso is a private Social Solidarity Institution and has been declared an institution of general public interest.
